TOWN of SILER CITY
PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on Aug. 21, 2017 at 7 pm in the City Hall Courtroom located at 311 N. 2nd Ave.  Public hearings and Board discussion will be conducted on the following requests:
1. Town of Siler City proposes text amendments to §18 Definitions (vegetative buffer), §235-§242 (floodplain, floodway, & non-encroachment area development regulations), & Appendix K – Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance.  The proposed revisions reflect updated regulations from FEMA and the Town must adopt the revised regulations in order to remain eligible in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
2. Town of Siler City proposes to adopt updated Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for its corporate limits and extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ).  The FIRMs have been updated by FEMA and the Town must adopt the updated FIRMs in order to remain eligible in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).  The updated FIRMs will become effective on November 17, 2017.
The proposed items are available for review in the Planning office and the updated FIRMS are also available for review at http://fris.nc.gov/fris/.  All persons interested in the outcome of the application are invited to attend the public hearing and present comments, testimony, and exhibits on the above referenced items.

A public hearing will be held by the Chatham County Board of Commissioners on Monday, August 21, 2017, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The hearing will be held in the courtroom of the Historic Courthouse in Pittsboro, North Carolina at 9 Hillsboro Street.

Notice is hereby given that the Town of Goldston Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on Monday, September 11th, 2017, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the agenda will allow, at the Town Municipal Building, 40 Coral Avenue, Goldston, NC, relative to the intention of the town to apply for FY2017 CDBG funding under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act.
The Town of Goldston intends to submit an application for a grant of approximately $920,400 in CDBG Infrastructure funds.The proposed project’s (CDBG Phase II) target area is adjacent to the CDBG Phase I target area and surrounds Pittsboro Goldston Road from approximately 2,000 feet east of the intersection of Pittsboro Goldston Road and Vernie Phillips Road to approximately 3,300 feet east of the intersection of Pittsboro Goldston Road and Vernie Phillips Road along with the area along Pinecrest Drive.  A preliminary investigation shows that there are 26 occupied residences within the target area.
The purpose of the public hearing is to obtain the views and proposals of the citizens of the Town of Goldston with regard to the determination of priorities for the community development and housing needs of the town. Citizens will be given the opportunity to provide oral and written comment on the county’s past and proposed use of CDBG funds at the public hearing.  All interested citizens are encouraged to attend.  If additional information is needed, please contact Mayor, Tim Cunnup at (919) 548-5946.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
TOWN OF PITTSBORO

The Pittsboro Town Board of Commissioners will hold the following Public Hearings on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 7:00 o’clock in the Town Council Chambers of the Pittsboro Town Hall, 635 East Street, Pittsboro, North Carolina, to consider the following items:
• 1. Special Use Permit Application, Amanda McGrane, SUP-2017-03 Special Use Permit request to operate a day care facility in the O-I zoning district. The day care will use an existing structure, making no external additions or alterations other than the erection of a fence to enclose the play area. The proposed location is 75 Old Graham Road and more particularly described with parcel 62468.
• 2. Proposed Annexation, Reman Properties LLC, A-2017-05 Annexation request for a parcel totaling 20.303 acres located at 270 Pittsboro Moncure Rd and more particularly described with Parcel number 60773.
The purpose of the public hearing is to provide interested parties with an opportunity to comment on the proposed special use permit and annexation requests.  The complete records are on file at the office of the Town Planning Department located at 480 Hillsboro Street, Suite 400, and are available for inspection during regular business hours or by appointment.
