PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Chatham County Board of Health will hold a public hearing on Monday, December 1, 2014, beginning at 6:00PM. The hearing will be held in the Dunlap Building in Pittsboro, North Carolina at 80 East Street.
The purpose of the public hearing is to receive input, both written and oral, on the proposed changes to the existing rules governing the Construction, Repair and Abandonment of Wells in Chatham County. The proposed changes include:
• Reducing the setback from termite treated foundations from 50’ to the state required 25’
• Designating bentonite as an approved grouting material
The proposed changes if approved will take effect January 1, 2015.
Additional information and the proposed rule changes are available on the County web site at www.chathamnc.org/environmentalhealth and at the Chatham County Public Health Department Environmental Health Division office, as well as the County Clerk’s Office.
Speakers are requested to sign up at the meeting prior to the hearing. The public hearing may be continued to another date at the discretion of the Board of Health.
