PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on Feb. 20, 2017 at 7 pm in the City Hall Courtroom located at 311 N. 2nd Ave.  Public hearings and Board discussion will be conducted on the following request:

A public hearing will be held by the Chatham County Board of Commissioners on Monday, February 20, 2017, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The hearing will be held in the courtroom of the Historic Courthouse in Pittsboro, North Carolina at 9 Hillsboro Street.

This sale will be held open ten (10) days for upset bids as required by law. If the Substitute Trustee is unable to convey title to this property for any reason, the sole remedy of the purchaser is the return of the deposit. Reasons of such inability to convey include, but are not limited to, the filing of a bankruptcy petition by an owner or debtor prior to the confirmation of the sale and reinstatement of the loan without the knowledge of the Substitute Trustee. If the validity of the sale is challenged by any party, the Substitute Trustee, in his sole discretion, if he believes the challenge to have merit, may request the Court to declare the sale to be

Additional Notice Where the Real Property Is Residential with less than 15 Rental Units: Any person who occupies the property pursuant to a rental agreement entered into or renewed on or after October 1, 2007, may, after receiving the notice of sale, terminate the rental agreement by providing written notice of termination to the landlord, to be effective on a date stated in the notice that is at least 10 days, but no more than 90 days, after the sale date contained in the notice of sale, provided that the mortgagor has not cured the default at the time the tenant provides the notice of termination. The notice shall also state that upon termination of a rental agreement, the tenant is liable for rent due under the rental agreement prorated to the effective date of the termination.

‘NOTICE of DISCHARGE of
UNTREATED SEWAGE”

The City of Graham had a discharge of untreated wastewater on February 8, 2017 of an estimated 99,400 gallons at Boyd Creek Pump Station, located at the dead end of Ingold Dr. The untreated wastewater entered into Boyd Creek in the Cape Fear River Basin. Equipment failure was determined to be the cause of the SSO. This notice was required by North Carolina General Statues Article 21, Chapter 143.215C.

l.  The existing Bynum Project includes:  (1) a 900-foot-long, 10-foot-high stone masonry dam (Bynum Dam, or Odell Lake Dam), consisting of a 750-foot-long uncontrolled spillway section and a 150-foot-long non-overflow section that contains canal intake facilities; (2) a reservoir with a surface area of 20 acres (referred to as Odell Lake), with gross storage of 100 acre-feet at elevation 315.0 feet mean sea level; (3) two 6-foot-wide Tainter gates controlling the intake to the canal; (4) a 2,000-foot-long, 40-foot-wide power canal; (5) a powerhouse containing one 600 kilowatt generating unit; (6) a 500-foot-long, 50-foot-wide tailrace; (7) a 100-foot-long, 0.48 kilovolt transmission line to a utility company’s transformer; and (9) appurtenant facilities.
